“We must be ready to allow ourselves to be interrupted by God.”
(Dietrich Bonhoeffer)
The electronic devices in our lives keep us connected to work, family, friends and to hundreds, if not thousands, of people we don’t know. It’s hard to listen to God when our minds are connected to noise instead of the One who wants to guide us and encourage us.
A few years ago, in an ambulance, I was disconnected from my electronic devices and my busyness. While traveling to the emergency room, I was thinking about two things; God and family. I had been interrupted by God. He wants to interrupt our early mornings and even our quiet time during the day. He loves us and would like to spend time with us. He can do that in an ambulance, in a hospital room, in a church or in a quiet place at home.
“Come near to God and He will come near to you.”
(James 4:8)
