Mound Visits, 12/29/16
A while back, SCORE International took a college basketball team to the Dominican Republic. After a game, it was learned that Dominican team they competed against had never had a pizza. The American team asked their coach if they could take the Dominican team out for a pizza. After the meal and before getting off the bus, one of the Dominican players, with a smile on his face and gratitude in his heart pulled off his shirt and handed it to one of the American players.
Years ago I wrote the following in the margin of my Bible: “The goodwill behind the gift you give determines its value.” When I read this quote this morning, I was reminded of what Paul taught the church in Corinth: “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
