Having the right attitude is more than thinking positively about your goals and dreams. It’s also about taking the time to recognize the difference between an interruption and an opportunity. In the parable of the Good Samaritan, the priest and the Levite “passed by” the other side of the robbed, beaten and naked man because they didn’t want to be interrupted. The Samaritan saw it as an opportunity to help someone in need. Jesus asked those hearing this parable, “‘Which of the three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?'” The expert of the law replied, ‘the one who had mercy on him.’ “Jesus told him, ‘go and do likewise.'” (Luke 10:36-37)
May we all look for opportunities today.
