Mound Visits, 2/20/24

The “Sermon in the Mount” is a message that Christians should review on a regular basis. The sermon is found in chapters 5-7 in the book of Matthew. When I read it, I realize that I often fall short in following the teachings of Jesus. Jesus taught about subjects such as prayer, justice, care for the needy, handling the religious law, peace making, fasting, judging other people, salvation, and much more.

Today, will I be a peace maker? Will I criticize and judge people? Will I love people who are different than me? Will I help someone in need? I pray that I will. That is what followers of Jesus are called to do. We can do this with His help.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.”
(Matthew 5:9)

“The Christian needs to walk in peace, so no matter what happens they will be able to bear witness to a watching world.”
(Henry Blackaby)
