There is great freedom in receiving forgiveness and in giving forgiveness. We can’t love God and love others as well without forgiving those who give us pain.
When Jesus was in tortuous physical pain on the cross, (also in spiritual and emotional pain), He said these words:
”Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.“
(Luke 23:34)
