Mound Visits, 3/6/22

In my first year at Kentucky I was a 27 year old head coach. Early in the season we were losing a game by two runs in the 7th inning. My body language must have been exuding stress. Our sophomore shortstop came near to me and in a quiet, confident way said to me, “Coach, we’ve got this.” We won the game, but perhaps more importantly, l learned something about how players and coaches earn the right to trust one another.

When we go through struggles and stressful times, we need to listen to God saying, “I’ve got this.” Win or lose, we can trust Him. We don’t have to go through any crisis alone. He is near us and He is for us.

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
(Romans 8:31)
