The word “blessing” gets used a lot. It’s a good word. But blessings, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. For the family of my young friend, Coleton, being able to hear him speak a new word is a blessing. Coleton is the 10 year old boy you may remember me requesting prayer for in January. He suffered a brain injury in a horrible sledding accident. He was in a coma for well over a month, so now he is learning to walk, feed himself and talk. He can now say 20 words. His mother posted yesterday about what an incredible “blessing” it is to hear Coleton say “mom.” It’s a word many hear 100 tines a day without a second thought, but for Coleton’s mom it’s a blessing.

“Count your blessings, name them one by one.
Count your many blessings, see what God has done”
