“In God We Trust” first appeared on the two-cent piece in 1864 and has appeared on paper currency since 1957. Some have fought to have the words removed from our currency. Some would like for the words to be banned from our lips and even our thoughts. But, thankfully, many in our nation agree with what the Psalmist said many centuries ago.

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” (Psalm 20:7)

King David knew that the true might of his nation wasn’t in weaponry but in worship. He knew that his wealth and power would not give him peace, but trusting in God would.
