“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
(Ephesians 4:29)

Now that I’m no longer coaching, this verse is much easier for me to read! But even now, is my “talk” helpful and does it benefit others? How we speak, and what we post on Twitter and Facebook, can either bring people closer to God or drive them further away. A self-righteous stand doesn’t build anyone up and it doesn’t benefit those who listen.

Paul goes on to say, “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:31,32)
