Mound Visits, 3/7/18

– [ ] Many of us are angry with the way Christians are portrayed in the media, in movies and on television. Some even defend our faith by hurling back insults in social media. I must admit, I’m tempted at times to do that as well.

– [ ] When Jesus was arrested, Peter drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear. Then, Jesus simply said, “No more of this!” Then Jesus touched the man’s ear and healed him. (taken from Luke 22:49-51).

– [ ] As we are tempted to defend ourselves with harsh words, I believe Jesus is saying, “No more if this!” Instead of swords or harsh words, perhaps we should serve more, love more, forgive and extend grace more and follow Jesus.
