Mound Visits, 4/30/18

I need to write the following verses on a dozen Post It notes and attach them to my bathroom mirror, dashboard, refrigerator and other places I’m face to face with often. You may not have an issue with this, but if I’m not careful, I can easily convince myself that my sins aren’t as bad as someone else’s. The other person’s shortcomings become magnified, while mine fall in to the “oh, that’s just my personality,” or “it’s the 21st Century, everyone does that” or, “that’s really not that bad” category. The truth is, non-Christians and new Christians are watching us. Do we want to become a stumbling block or and encouragement? Hopefully, today, I will encourage more and judge less.

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” (Matthew 7:1)
“How can you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” (Matthew 7:3)
