Several years ago a good friend said to me, “behind every face is a drama ready to unfold.” How true this is. We hide doubts, fears, shame, disappointment, guilt and anxiety. We easily forget that Jesus, the One who calms the storm and turns a handful of fish and bread into a feast for thousands is always with us. Sometimes our fear temporarily overcomes our faith. Peter walked on the water…for a while. His fear overcame his faith. The closer we walk with Him, the less fear and shame we have.
For those of us who can only walk on the water for 0.5 seconds, He carries us. For those of us who hide shame or disappointment behind our mask of confidence, He extends forgiveness and grace and encourages us to walk closer.
We serve a savior who is worthy of our praise and adoration.
“…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.””
(Matthew 28:20b)
