Jesus was born in a manger. Over 30years later He washed His disciple’s feet. He showed compassion to the poorest of the poor, an adulteress and a prostitute. Jesus was kind to children, the blind and the lame. Up to the very end of His earthly life He taught us what was truly important when He invited a thief on the cross to spend eternity with Him. He did this while He was dying for him, and for you and me. Paul taught us that we should follow the example of Christ:

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interest of others.”
(Philippians 2:3-4)

These instructions are not easy for me to follow…unless I follow Jesus very closely.
