Mound Visits, 5/8/17
I watched 24 innings of baseball yesterday (only two games, one lasted 15 innings and over 6 hours!). Sometimes, it goes un-noticed what happens behind the scenes during and after a game: the umpires never sit, the grounds crew must drag the field, the trainers ice sore arms and treat injuries, the concession workers clean up, equipment managers put up equipment and clean uniforms, and there’s much more. What WE do behind the scenes matters, also. Those who pray in public and draw attention to themselves may go un-noticed…by God. When we pray secretly or honor God among a few, God is pleased.
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:6)
