“Our sins are nothing but a grain of sand along the great mountain of the mercy of God.”
(John Vianney)

King David knew politics. He knew strategies of war and the human condition. But more importantly, he knew God. David, who was being faced with famine, a plaque and a great multitude of enemy soldiers said this:

“I am in deep distress. Let us fall into the hands of the LORD, for his mercy is great; but do not let me fall into human hands.”
2 Samuel 24:14
