Mound Visits, 6/23/23

During my coaching career, I loved big innings…when we were hitting! When the other team had a big inning it felt like a “gut punch.”

Have you ever heard that trouble comes in threes or in bunches? In life, like baseball, big innings can be horrendous. In baseball, a coach can go to his bullpen or call for a pinch hitter. In life, it’s better. We call on a compassionate Savior who wants to give us rest and carry our burden. If we call on Him, He can lighten our load and bring peace to our weary souls.

“When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.”
(Psalms 86:7)

“I know no words of prayer – God help me because I can not help myself.” (Harold Hughes)
