“Baseball is like church. Many attend few understand.” – Leo Durocher
This is so true. Many don’t understand baseball because coaches, many times, make the game too complicated. Yogi Berra once said, “You can’t hit and think at the same time.”
Theologians frequently want to make faith more complicated, as well. As a result, people become either confused or argumentative about faith.
Paul was a great theologian, evangelist and a prolific writer. He said this: “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” (Galatians 5:6)
Whether it’s baseball or faith, in most cases, we are better served if we stick to the fundamentals.
