Mound Visits, 7/26/18

Occasionally, it’s important to ask, “what are my motives in doing good?” Sometimes I have a desire to post things on social media, or share things during a speaking engagement, that may honor me instead of God. So, I must evaluate why I want to go public with my posts or comments. Is it to honor God, or to bring attention to myself? It’s always a good thing to honor God!

After a basketball game one night, my father gently said to me, “Son, be careful. You may break your arm patting yourself on the back.” Lesson learned!

“Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.”
(Matthew 6:1)
