Mound Visits, 8/20/21
Americans in Afghanistan need to come home. Hospitals are filling to capacity in many states because of the Delta variant of COVID-19. Our southern border has become an area of
crisis with innocent children being separated from their parents. The influx is so great, the border patrol and local authorities can’t accommodate the innocent and can’t identify and control those who may do harm. Innocent people are being gunned down in the streets of our cities because of a surge in violence. Many of our Haitian brothers and sisters are homeless, injured or grieving because of yet another major earthquake.
All of these problems become political while law enforcement officers, doctors and nurses and our military are being stretched to the limit. Political leaders argue, citizens take sides. Can anyone else see the enemy preparing for the victory lap? Can we all take a deep breath, let go of the anger and blame, then pray. Ask God for mercy in these situations. God will hear our prayers.
“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
(2 Chronicles 7:14)
