In the challenging story of the Good Samaritan, the Samaritan took time out of his schedule, money out of his pocket and compassion from his heart to help the Jewish man on the side of the road (Luke 10:30-37). That is the type of neighbor Jesus wants us to be.
“I shall pass through this world but once. Any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” (Henry Drummond)
“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”
(Matthew 7:12)
