Mound Visits, 8/24/17

As parents of adult children and also grandparents, I can assure you, we love to hear from them often! God’s capacity to love is much greater than ours. Consequently, He wants to hear from His children continuously. Ours prayers don’t need to be long formal prayers. They can sometimes be “good morning,” or “thank you,” or “I know it’s unproductive and draining to worry about this, Lord, so would You be kind enough to carry this burden for me and help me?” It also be a short prayer for wisdom before going in to a meeting or making one of the many decisions you make each day, or simply observing people more closely and saying a silent prayer for those you come in contact with.
Paul says this in 1 Timothy 2:1: “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people.” In another letter, he writes, “don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.”
The busier our day, the more we need to pray!
